Lose Weight Enjoying A Dollar-A-Day-Lunch

What is the most difficult meal to control? Well you might say, "It's the evening meal. I tend to stuff at night." Let me challenge this. If you're at home you have complete control over what you eat.

For me... the most difficult meal to control is... lunch. We're at work. We've had a busy morning... maybe even a challenging morning. Lunchtime is a chance to get away from it all. We go to a restaurant and chase our anxieties away with food. Then we get back to the office and all we want to do is take a nap. We have overloaded our digestive track and now our bodies want to be still and use all our energy to start digesting the load of food we have just devoured.

Here is an excellent way to not only control our lunchtime calorie intake but to have more energy in the afternoon. Go for the cheapest thing on the menu. Take it a step further... limit your daily lunchtime allowance to less than $2. I actually call it the dollar-a-day-lunch. That's because there are many fast food-type restaurants that offer $1 meals. With tax they run a little over a dollar but not much. Certainly I am not talking about getting a dollar ice cream cone or fried pie. I'm talking about a small burger, a taco of some variety, maybe a small chicken sandwich... look for something on the "Dollar Menu" that will provide some substance. Do this every day for a week or so until you get comfortable with eating less at lunch time.

The dollar-a-day-lunch will accomplish 3 things.

First, it will reduce your daily calorie intake.

Second, it will condition your system to become totally satisfied with smaller meals.

Third, you will save a considerable amount of money.

If you are trying to lose weight, the dollar-a-day- lunch saves you the hassle of counting calories, worrying about overeating, or getting in a knot trying to figure out what to eat. You will quickly learn where these meals are available and become comfortable with the fact that you will be full without suffering the after-lunch energy slump.

Try it. Put $2 in your pocket next week for each day's lunch. Of course you will be drinking water and won't be getting the French fries with your burger. But, you will start becoming comfortable with smaller meals. That goes a long way when you're trying to drop a few pounds.
